I first encountered Helen Smith 20 years ago when I worked as the Engineering Director of the public transport company First in South Yorkshire. We were reviewing the structures and procedures to improve the quality of cleaning within the organisation. We had presentations from a number of external suppliers but Helen's presentation was outstanding.
Regrettably the board decided to keep the cleaning function in house. Two years later when I was promoted to Managing Director for First Bradford, Helen was one of the first people I contacted. She quickly arranged a smooth transition from in house cleaning to her contract company. What impressed me even more than her original presentation was her commitment and dedication to ensure the service was delivered. I first met Helen when she was recruited to our then mutual company. Helen was recruited to develop and grow the sales pipeline and ultimately convert those leads to margin rich sales. Helen achieved and exceeded all targets set for her in her first year at the business. As Sales Director, Helen was diligent, tenacious, honest, extremely hard working and inspirational to work with.
