I first encountered Helen Smith 20 years ago when I worked as the Engineering Director of the public transport company First in South Yorkshire. We were reviewing the structures and procedures to improve the quality of cleaning within the organisation. We had presentations from a number of external suppliers but Helen's presentation was outstanding.
Regrettably the board decided to keep the cleaning function in house. Two years later when I was promoted to Managing Director for First Bradford, Helen was one of the first people I contacted. I first met Helen when she was recruited to our then mutual company. Helen was recruited to develop and grow the sales pipeline and ultimately convert those leads to margin rich sales.
